My dear father,
I sent yesterday to ask you for dispensation,[1] but you were not at home. I suppose that I am right in eating meat without[2] for the present?
I sent for Miss Eliza and told her about the Novena,[3] and in short told her all that I said I would, of course withoutp2mentioning your name I could not get her to interest herself very much; in fact I think she was afraid all the time, for fear I should give her cholera,[4] but she said she would see about it.
I dont feel very well this morning, but still I hope that I shall not fall back again. Is there a chance of my seeing you again? I hope so.
I am
dear father
your affectionate child
