I feel surprised that you have forgotten me at the same time I think it is only put on, but I now recall you to the time you spent[1] in Sutherland Gardens at the Little Sisters of the Poor where I was staying previous to my joining the Sisters of St Paul in Paris, but was prevented doing so by illness — you cannot forget the many hours you spent with me in trying to soothe & comfort me in my trying & painful position in which I was placed. Do you not rep2member leading me about when I was unable to walk alone[2] I begin to fear your memory is failing for the interval of a year did not before prevent you remembering to bring me a crucifix & which I always wear & pray daily for the giver. You used to say you could write my life but I think you could not now.
I have much to tell to a Father Gezelle who once knew me but until he can recall Emily to mind I think it better to be silent.
Tomorrowp3is the 8th anniversary of my reception into the Church[3] so I beg you will pray for me
