I send you £ 5.- as you appear to be in such need of money. I have refrained from writing only because I found by sad experience that I could not induce either you or your husband to follow my advice by living within yourp2Income – Mr. Gale has been kind enough to take a great deal of trouble about your affairs- & he tells me now that you have had money several times & that the same old story will be of course repeated that you have spent your money before any fresh money has come in & how are you to go on if you live beyond your means – as yourp3husband is away – you have not to pay for his food or other things he may require – you are always writing that you have no other persons to look to but myself and yet you never follow a word of advice that I gave you. This distresses me & prevents my being willing to help you occasionally
I sent this to Mr Gale & ask him enclose £ 5.
